This rousing pep rally was held ahead of the ‘Unite to Face Addiction’ concert on the National Mall in Washington, DC, on 10.04.15. The pre-concert event was held by the Hazelden Betty Ford Institute for Recovery Advocacy and Minnesota Recovery Connection (MRC). It included remarks from MRC Executive Director Jill Petsel, HBF VP of Philanthropy Betsy Farver-Smith; Recovery 2.0 Founder Tommy Rosen; MRC volunteer Suzula Bidon; Nick Motu, VP of HBF’s Institute for Recovery Advocacy; William Moyers, HBF’s VP of Community Relations and Public Affairs; MRC recovery coach Laura de Thier-Lupori; actress and advocate Mackenzie Phillips; and Dr. Harry Haroutunian from the Betty Ford Center, among others.
